"This enemy activates to the closest available lane to your hero."
Since Activation effects take place anytime an enemy is activated, including from a group, the Glider can activate when already in the bottom or middle lane. When it is assessing the "closest available lane," it considers its own lane as available to itself. So it will never activate and move further away from your hero than its current lane, it will only activate closer if able.
