The rules state that solo player always go first and takes their turn normally. Does this mean I begin by deploying one gladiator and end my turn(assuming no ready abilities)?

Regarding Atlantis solo trials yellow die (Take Charge): Champion is placed adjacent to weakest unit and alt atk. But Gadir doesn't have an alt atk. Does he use his basic?
